FINNISH CULTURE
Culture in many forms
Through its Cultural Committee, the Finnish Center seeks to expose new audiences to the music, literature, history, art, cooking, and other cultural influences of Finland and Finnish America. The committee brings cultural programming to the Finnish Center, and provides a forum for interacting with the artists.

kulttuuri
kult‧tuu‧ri
As a chapter of Finlandia Foundation National, the Finnish Center hosts performers, musicians, writers, lecturers, and artists from Finland and the U.S. and organizes public events to share these bright Finnish talents. This enables undiscovered artists to gain exposure for entertaining programs related to Finnish and Finnish-American culture. Finland is internationally recognized for its contributions to the arts and design fields, and that extends to Finnish and Finnish-American designers in the United States.
PRESERVING FINNISH CULTURE
THROUGH EDUCATION AND SCHOLARSHIPS
An annual scholarship competition, conducted by the Education Committee, awards deserving college students who are of Finnish origin or pursuing Finnish-Nordic studies.

FINNISH MUSIC AND DANCE
Jean Sibelius, the acclaimed Finnish composer, is widely known, but FCA also promotes its local talent including the Finnish American Singers of Michigan, the Nordic Heritage Folk Dancers, and FinnFolk — a volunteer ensemble of woodwinds, strings and accordian that plays folk and dance music of Finland and Scandinavia.
